Monday 14 June 2021- rest day in Much Wenlock

Written by:

A lie in today . Walked into Much Wenlock to the bakers for lunch rolls and , of course, a little snack

Had decided to spend a lot of the day at Attingham Park as we had previously been there many years ago for a summer open air concert. Walked around the basement exhibition which was very enlightening about the life of Lord Berwick in the late 18 th century

Just a small entrance
Over 100 rooms
Plenty of bells to summon the servants

Peaceful grounds of around 4000- yes, 4000 acres with deer, cattle and the customary walled garden

Finished off the day with dinner in the old coach inn in Much Wenlock (had to have the obligatory rhubarb crumble with custard , naturally)

Typical building in Much Wenlock

Tomorrow it’s back on the bike 🚴🚴‍♂️🚐🚐 heading to the Delamere Forest .

Mustn’t forget – Tony will be proud of us – bike maintenance and cleansing was also carried out

2 bikes being cleaned and fresh lube applied
