D2- 3rd September- preparing my artistic temperament

P156 – the Battle of Heavenfield (at least so named until the 19 th century when some doubt as to its exact location became more prominent) where Oswald overcame Cadwallon of the Britons.

The place where St Oswalds way ends and where we will aim to be in around 10 days….

But before then, some preparation was still needed and the camera had to be dusted off and given some airing…Off to Harlow Carr (RHS garden)

…and some sustenance

…and then taking in the air of Yorkshire

Tomorrow it’s catching an early train to Berwick on Tweed and onwards to Holy Island.
