A glorious morning, the mist and murk of yesterday having been blown inland.
Avoided the cooked breakfast today – poached eggs on toast instead.
Picked up homemade sandwiches from the post office shop and onward we went.

The hoardes were arriving across the Causeway as we trekked the opposite direction, the early morning mist being driven away by the sun

Just in case you misjudge the tide… a safe waiting area at 5 km

.. and then inland

Across the mainline to Edinburgh

…we were definitely going to do as we were told ..

… took slightly less than 3 minutes ….good job too as the next GNER was pretty close

…and then there was the A1

Fenwick… half way for today….hats off to the ladies at the post office/ coffeehouse

…of course I couldn’t resist…

After meeting a few fellow walkers, most of whom were heading in the opposite direction towards Lindisfarne, doing the St Cuthbert’s Way from Melrose, we headed into the woodland.

Ahhhh. Fungi…no good walk without them

Lunch anyone?

Shared with a grasshopper thing

A bit of ‘arty’ photography ensued.

Q.”And what do you do?”

….I’m not wild water swimming in that, thank you

…Nearly at our destination..

Arrived ! A fabulous day walking in Northumberland
