Post breakfast stop to get the most amazing filled roll for lunch at the Bakery. Big shout to the ladies there!

Then it was uphill for the next 8 km or so.

Amazing views the higher we got

Then into heather and rocks

Before the highest point on the St Oswald’s way, Coquet cairn
Where a snack / early lunch stop was needed

Then onward through the Harwood forest…. A managed forest….originally grown in the 1950’s ‘ to provide a strategic reserve for the country following the Second World War (ref .St Oswald’s way guidebook p80 )
It is VERY BIG!

..and lots of fungi✔️

Before heading back down and into a bit of civilisation as we hadn’t seen anyone for about 10 km.
..chatting to the locals

… being carefully watched by the locals

…A glorious walk all round.

Final day tomorrow…. Better have a big breakfast a as it is a long one.😱
