Preparations underway

BBC weather app suggesting we might need a number of waterproof items 😱🤦‍♂️☔️

Rule 1 – don’t get lost. It’s only 117 miles

Rule 2- don’t forget the T bags, the tissues (can’t have sniffing going along the whole route 🤭), and a small but equipped first aid package (have left out the anaesthetic machine, defibrillator, and basic surgical appendicectomy set- for obvious reasons)

Rule 3- day pack rucksacks.” Pack light Henrik!”

Sue, who is coming to have a holiday in our house while we are away has had the unwelcome visitors pointed out. Apparently less aggressive than the normal wasp!
Something to keep an eye on and job to do on our return #haven’t ventured into the loft yet to see if there is a big blob of papier-mâché like structure in a corner #hope they are staying in the cavity wall.

Allegedly, once Autumn comes, hornets leave the nest and don’t return “ so the best strategy is to wait until they leave…and then remove the nest in September, October or April” (bats.org.uk).

Any expert readers, please verify if that is correct or not.
