Thank you Vicky for taking us to Romsey Station – a bit earlier than planned as some confusion on Trainline / train tracker whether our train is actually in service !?
Planned route was Romsey – Salisbury (train change) – Exeter (train change) – Plymouth , then no 2 and no 49 bus to Wembury and short walk (yds) to BnB.
ACTUAL route ….
- Romsey to Salisbury (train change)
- Salisbury to Yeovil – where the train stopped!!! and terminated🤦♂️
- After a long wait, in a pretty good coffee shop at Yeovil station, Yeovil to Exeter, then Exeter to Plymouth
- Arrived 2 hrs later than planned in Plymouth so had missed the bus to Wembury……..new plan needed for the last leg of the journey.
- Bus to Plymstock, where Becky our Air BnB host works, and she very kindly gave us a lift ‘home’ . Extra thumbs up and trip advisor kudos for her.

I can see why the Two Moors Way guide book said the following,

A ‘bus stop’ – don’t use those very often 🤭

Arrived at lodgings – The Garden Studio, Tithe Barn,
Langdon at around 6 pm and very very pleased to have got a lift as the walk from the bus stop would have been ‘unpleasantly hilly’ with two suitcases in tow. Glad the transport company is moving those every day for us.

And then a stroll to stretch the legs

The Great Mewstone sitting off Wembury Point has an ‘interesting story’ to tell…probably a matter of opinion me thinks.

The Church is St Werburgh dates from around 9 century at the site of a Saxon Oratory (Werburgh was the daughter of Wulfhere, the first Christian king of Mercia). It was replaced by a Roman church around 12th Century.
(I knew I could get some Anglo-Saxon history in there somewhere)

Finally back to base and checking itinerary and food stops and what to wear etc for tomorrow.
Around 30 km walk to Ivybridge tomorrow 😱🤪
Weather looking a bit damp in the morning ☔️

It’ll be what it will be…. “No such thing as bad walking weather”, although I reserve judgement on that .
