Had the best night’s sleep ever!
The plan was to drive through Adrenaline country to Wanaka today.
A bright and fresh morning and we were on the road by 9:30.

The good old travellers road atlas has been keeping us on the correct road…thank you Ian and Kay for the loan.
A lot of driving through glacier honed valleys today. Farming and wine country .

..with a short coffee stop at the best coffee place in the region… in fact the only coffee place in the region… and it is a very large region !

Onward to Queenstown and the hills arrived again with amazing views driving around Lake Wakatipu.

…Before arriving at the adrenaline junky capital …

Properties all around looked very vey expensive!

Then it was through the Gibbston Gorge following the Kawarau River to see Roaring Meg (allegedly so named after a red headed barmaid in the late 19th century). Definitely NOT tempted with the white water rafting either.

Finally our destination for 2 nights. Wanaka, surprisingly big as a town to what we had expected but fortunately the camp site is at the far end, slightly away from the centre where it all happens.

The day finished with an evening stroll to see #ThatWanakaTree (madness to think what makes some things famous)

… and we realised that we have been away for 3 weeks now …
