Day 0 – 1st September

That feeling when you’ve completed all the admin, packed all you think you need, put labels around the house for the visitors that are staying while away, and have read the first 100 pages of a book about the history of where you will walk for 100 miles over 8 days (thank you John Groves for the loan)

I am sure over the next week or so I will get to grips with Aethelric, Aethelfrith, Aldfrith, Ecgfrith, Oswald, Oswiu, Osred, Osric etc and the rest of 7th and 8th century Saxon History … although I truly have my doubts 🤣.

Off tomorrow to Hampsthwaite, Yorkshire for a day or so before leaving the car at brother in law’s and catching the train to Berwick upon Tweed.

Another short adventure about to begin
