C2C OUTTAKES and REFLECTIONS

Always keep your eyes peeled for the many different types of C2C signposts even though the new national trail ones are most prominent

Ensure that when you book your accommodation (or someone else does it for you) you request ground floor rooms / the number of flights of stairs I’ve had to heave the luggage up over last few weeks – it’s like a gym workout at the end of the day… and they always seem to be up a very narrow attic type of corridor 🤦‍♂️

You can have too many cooked breakfasts but never too many crumbles…

…Even though STP wins challenge using statistics and other mumbo jumbo calculations

Ensure you don’t leave the lid off a boiling kettle that is placed just under the auto fire alarm! (Apologies from us)

PLUS

Ensure you don’t put boiling kettle under TV !

We learned from the fire alarm experience 👍

If you see a cottage for sale – DON’T look it up on right move to see if you could buy it! It’ll cost a lot more to ‘do up’

… which brings me on to …Decision on BnB type : we wouldn’t do it at all as we could not agree on quite a lot of things 🤣🤣🤣

Sheep- what sheep ?

Better to have half a pint of ale at lunch than a whole pint – not much privacy on the Moors 😱… and Stout is the best, especially this one⬇️

For my taste buds, Stout scores are: Great Corby > Guiness > Murphy’s

BIG RESPECT to all our fellow walkers past, present, and future….whether you’re doing it in 8/10/12/14/26/18/20+days … or in stages over several months or years…

… to those with no cartilage in their knees!

… to those who have overcome strokes and bone breakages and heart attacks and other health adversaries

… to those ‘finding themselves’ or ‘finding new meaning for life’ for the first time, or again,

Always remember …

Never miss an opportunity for an ice cream

Plan your rest day(s), keep going whatever the weather but if you have any influence with the weather maker use it to your advantage if you can (although I suspect He may have slightly more crucial things to manage… or has He, being ‘Omni’ ?)
