C2C Wainwright. T minus 20 days – Planning 190miles over 16 days – ?are we walking fit

Written by:

The aim = 8 days 🦵 +1 day rest + 8 days .🦵

Accommodation booked ✅

Dinners booked ✅

Packed lunches booked / where to buy lunch ✅

Ought to get walking fit really.

Decided on Urban walk today from front doorstep / long way into town / Frappuccino and iced coffee (not going to get THAT on C2C)

Feeling it

Good way to start thinking of what to take / how much / why?

Having Sherpavan (phsv.co.uk) move our luggage daily so only need daypack.

Luggage allowance 20kg/person which is ample. Having said that, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales /Moors in September could be full of ‘inclement’ weather without doubt.

Daypack will need waterproofs , walking poles, first aid kit, lunch, extra layer for when ‘up top’…. Camera, binoculars … THAT’s going to add a few kilos 🤪🤭

Should we pack a bottle of squash to dilute into water bottles each day ?

Should we take extra snacks / or make our own ?

SF has already said she’ll make the SA rusks – can’t be a proper LDW if we don’t have those 👍. Thank you .

Urban walking can be surprisingly interesting #seeing things you don’t normally pay attention to

A bubbling brook

… and opportunities to practice / zone in on the wildlife photography

… and the Art

Even a bit of local history #every day is a school day

A good start today to get legs ready . A few more walks in the next 3 weeks before the real thing.
